Compliance Officer:

Our client an International private Bank based offshore is looking for a Compliance Officer based in Jersey the objectives of this position are as follows:

To create and maintain a fully compliant environment within the Private Bank in Jersey in order to keep findings on regulatory inspections to a minimum.

Protect, promote and enhance the Bank's reputation.

To discharge the (Compliance Officer) accountabilities set out in the Compliance Officer Handbook by proactively assisting management in identifying and containing compliance risk, monitoring, reporting and certification, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.

This Private Bank is enormously successful and growing its business locally but as part as part of a worldwide group.

Provide effective Compliance support to the business.

Assist line management in bringing in new business by the effective checking of KYC and due diligence documentation, prior to authorisation by Compliance Officer or Head of Compliance, applying for SCC approval if and when required.

Monitor and collate daily transaction reports over GBP 30,000.00, liasing with RM’s as appropriate.

Provide effective money laundering monitoring.

Assist completion of annual Compliance plan, this will include monitoring and report writing.

Conduct quarterly complaints monitoring reporting those over 3 months old to Head of Compliance and Internal Control.

Assist with SCC and FATF reviews as required.

Assist with overview of CPD and anti-money laundering training to ensure that the business is compliant with the regulatory requirements.

Compliance

Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.

Maintain the Banks Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

Be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.

Qualifications

Professional & Degree (or equivalent)
International Compliance and or Money Laundering Diploma.

Broad understanding of all financial services businesses regulated business, this includes trust services, private banking, credit, investments, funds etc.

Experience in anti-money laundering requirements, including KYC and due diligence requirements.
Good communication skills.
